Account information

When you create an account, viadeck stores your email address, username, profile name, verification status and account timestamps. Email-and-password accounts store a salted password hash, not your readable password. Signing in with Google or Apple supplies your provider identifier, email and, when provided, name. This information is used to create and manage your account and authenticate you.

Device preferences and feedback

Your theme, For You interests and read-story history are stored on your device using browser storage and preference cookies. Clear cache on For You clears its interests and read-story history. Clearing your browser storage also removes local preferences. These interests do not update your account profile when you select them.

If you send feedback, viadeck stores your message, platform, submission time and any email address you choose to include. Feedback is used to improve the service and respond to requests. Please avoid including sensitive personal information.

Security and service providers

Session cookies and app session tokens keep you signed in. Verification codes and sign-in state are short-lived and single-use. Network information and rate-limit records help prevent abuse. Hosting providers may also process request and diagnostic logs.

Cloudflare provides hosting and database infrastructure. Cloudflare Turnstile checks email signup requests for bots. Amazon SES delivers verification and account-change emails. Resend can also be used as an alternative email provider. Google or Apple processes sign-in when you choose that provider. Account information is not used for advertising or included in the AI prompts that generate culture descriptions.

External links and embedded players, including Spotify, are operated by their respective providers and may process network information or use their own cookies under their privacy policies.

Retention and your choices

Account information and feedback are retained to operate the service. Expired security records are removed through bounded cleanup jobs; deletion is not necessarily immediate when a record expires. You can change supported account details and sign out of sessions in account settings.

You can request access, correction or deletion by emailing namesforusers@gmail.com. We may ask you to verify account ownership before acting on a request. Deleting browser data alone does not delete a server account or previously submitted feedback.
